Event Area

The course runs from Matsuzaki, Matsuzaki Town, to the Shuzenji General Hall in Izu City, passing through areas of Matsuzaki Town, Nishiizu Town, Kawazu Town, Numazu City, and Izu City in Shizuoka Prefecture.

This is a self-supported race. Participants may not receive food or water at aid stations along the course.

Distance:Approximately 28.9 km

Total Elevation Gain:Approximately 1,139 m

Start Location:Amagi-no-Mori, Nishina Pass, Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Finish Location:Shuzenji Onsen, Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Time Limit:6 hours and 30 minutes, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Eligibility

❶ ITJ70k

Applicants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older on race day.

• Be confident that they can complete the entire course within the time limit without becoming lost.

Completion of a recent trail-running race is not a mandatory requirement. However, participation is strongly recommended only for those who have previously completed either:

• A trail-running race of at least 25 km; or

• A road race of at least 40 km.

❷ Around Alone 28k

Applicants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older on race day.

• Be confident that they can complete the entire course within the time limit without becoming lost.

 

Conditions of Participation

Applicable to Both ITJ70k and Around Alone 28k

Participants must:

• Have the ability to deal independently, without outside assistance, with problems that may arise during the race, including issues related to altitude, weather, mental stress, and physical condition.

• Fully understand and accept personal responsibility for participating in the event.

• Understand that the race takes place in a natural environment involving many plants, animals, local residents, hikers, and other trail users.

• Fully understand the competition rules intended to minimize environmental impact.

• Respect event operations designed to protect and accommodate people who are not participating in the race.

 

Elite Athlete Eligibility

Applicable to Both Race Categories

Applicants who meet the following standards at the time of entry will be granted priority entry as elite athletes.

① Invited Entry with Travel or Appearance Support

• Men: ITRA Performance Index of 825 or higher

• Women: ITRA Performance Index of 700 or higher

• Equivalent to ITRA PI Elite Level 4 or above

② Complimentary Entry

• Men: ITRA Performance Index of 850 or higher

• Women: ITRA Performance Index of 725 or higher

• Equivalent to ITRA PI Elite Level 3 or above

 

Awards

Awards will be presented to:

• Top five men

• Top five women

The top five male and female finishers will receive seeded entry for the next event.

Prize money will be awarded to the top three men and top three women.

• 1st place: JPY 300,000-

• 2nd place: JPY 150,000-

• 3rd place: JPY 100,000-
